  • FEES

If you have private medical cover, I am BUPA registered, and most other insurance companies will also accept this and allow you to use your insurance to pay for CBT. My fee for those who are self funding is currently 60 per session. However, where these fees are a problem, do let me know, as I do offer a small number of discounted sessions. Wherever possible, I would not would wish that financial difficulties be the main reason a client does not undergo counselling.

    Fee Scale and Session Times
CBT is a short-term therapy, where client and therapist are working hard to achieve a good result within a relatively short period (normally between 6 and 12 sessions ? often less). Some clients need only 1 or 2 sessions to make major changes. The fees below reflect the concentration of work and the amount of out-of-session work that will be developed for the client to undertake ? which will also result in fewer therapy sessions being required than in other more traditional forms of therapy.

A session time is 50 minutes, a half session 25 minutes. You are welcome to book 1.5 sessions (75 minutes) if you prefer where time and travel are considerations.

Individuals, paying (cash or cheque) at the time of each session:
  • Self funding 60-00 per session
  • Private Health Insurance 90-00 per session
  • Where you have been referred by an organisation or medical practice, this fee may be adjusted/lowered in line with their scale charges. Where fees may be a problem, please let me know.
  • Couples therapy (non BUPA) 70-00 per session
  • Individuals and organisations requiring an invoice. (non BUPA) 65-00 per session
  • Organisations who require written client assessments or other reporting. (non BUPA) 70-00 per session
  • Client reports (for insurance claims, for example) Fee will depend on length and detail of report
Fees (self-funding) should be paid at the time of each session. Thank you. With the exception of organisational reporting, please note that the above fees reflect the therapy session time only. Where you may need further assistance outside the session of a substantial nature (for example, onward written reporting), fees at the level indicated above would have to be charged.

The above fees apply to sessions on weekdays between 8.30am and 7.30pm inclusive It is not normally possible to offer weekend appointments except in cases of special client need, where no other time is possible. The fee for a weekend appointment is 90-00 per session (self funded) or 120-00 per session (PHI).

Once you are in therapy, your initially agreed fee will remain the same for a period of one year from your start date, despite any fee review during this time.

If you have financial difficulties with regard to fees, please let me know. Where I can help, I would not want this to be the sole reason you cannot enter coaching or therapy. I do offer reduced rates to a limited number of clients at any one time in order to assist this difficulty. Please ask if one of these slots is available, or what the waiting list is like.

I can also give you details of counselling agencies in the public sector who offer sliding scales of fees based on hardship, and will be most happy to do this.

    Further Information

I do have a professional pack detailing my Practice Details, and would be most happy to send this, either in the post or via email if you let me have your postal or email address. This will then allow you to consider whether this type of therapy, and I as a therapist, would be right for you before you commit yourself to an appointment.

Initial appointments are always a one off and there is no further commitment unless you feel confident that further sessions of therapy would be helpful to you.
